Tom Hunter

Tom Hunter
Tom hunter is a London based artist working in photography and film. His series of photos Life and Death in Hackney paints a landscape creating a melancholic beauty out of the post-industrial decay where the wild buddleia and sub-cultural inhabitants took root and bloomed. This maligned and somewhat abandoned area became the epicenter of the new warehouse rave scene of the early 90s. During this time the old print factories, warehouses and workshops became the playground of a disenchanted generation taking the DIY culture from the free festival scene and adapting it to the urban wastelands. This Venice of the East End with its canals rivers and waterways made a labyrinth of pleasure gardens and pavilions in which thousands of explorers travelled through a heady mixture of music and drug induced trances

Jeff Wall

Jeff Wall
Jeff Wall is best known for his large-scale colour transparencies mounted in wall-hung light boxes which combine  the seductive glow of a cinema screen with the physical presence of sculpture. Wall’s works are typified by two approaches which he characterizes as either cinematographic or documentary. For his innovative mise-en-scenes wall has pioneered state of the art film and digital techniques to compose meticulously staged scenes.

Stephanie Sinclair

Stephanie Sinclair
Stephanie Sinclair is an American photojournalist who focuses on gender and human-rights issues such as child marriage and self-immolation. Her work has been featured in such publications as the New York Times Time Magazine and National Geographic.

Gregory Crewdson

Gregory Crewdson
Gregory Crewdson works within a photographic tradition that combines the documentary style of William Eggleston and Walker Evans with the dream-like vision of filmmakers such as Stephen Spielberg and David Lynch. Crewdson’s method is equally filmic building elaborate sets to take pictures of extraordinary detail and narrative portent. Sanctuary his most recent series was shot amid the grounds of the legendary Cinecitta Studios outside Rome. Abandoned by the actors and crews that brought the sets to life Crewdson decided to make the film sets themselves the subject of the photographs. Despite this change of direction the artists vision persists.

Martin Parr

Martin Parr
Martin Parr has worked on numerous photographic projects. He has developed a an international reputation for his innovative imagery his oblique approach to social documentary and his input to photographic culture within the UK and abroad. In 1994 he became a full member of Magnum Photographic Corporation. In recent years he has developed an interest in filmmaking and has started to use his photography within different conventions such as fashion and advertising.

Cristina De Middel

Cristina De Middel
Cristina De Middel is a photographer based in London that has been working for different newspapers in Spain and with NGO’s such as Doctors Without Borders or the Spanish Red Cross for more than eight years. She combines her strictly documentary assignments with more personal projects. This B-side of Cristina’s work deliberately asks the audience to question the language and the veracity of photography as a document and plays with reconstruction or archetypes that blur the border between reality and fiction.

A former creative director with a BFA in graphic design Brian has over 15 years experience in the commercial field. After years of working with some of the industry’s top photographers and directors on advertising campaigns for several global brands Brian’s passion and pursuit of photography led him to start working from behind the camera as a commercial shooter and director. As a photographer specializing in lifestyle fashion and editorial work Brian draws on his conceptual chops and design sensibilities to compose striking images that tell stories ranging from humorous to dramatic to surreal.

Alex MacNaughton

Alex MacNaughton
Alex MacNaughton has been working as a photographer since the early nineties. He has previously published three books focusing on graffiti and the street art scene. The idea for his fourth book surfaced during a less inspiring PR job which involved photographing a journalist getting a tattoo. As it turned out Alex started chatting with the tattooist and pretty soon new ideas began to take form. Alex wanted the book to have a consistent look over all the pages.
